The clients of Music House came to us with the desire to create a better functioning, open plan, family space that could accommodate large musical instruments, a piano and cellos to name a few, as well as a space for socialising.
The final layout chosen for the scheme included an open plan kitchen-dining-living space which was achieved through a mixture of clever space reconfiguration and an extension to the rear.
In order to gain as much light as possible into the new space, specifically to capture the light from the setting sun, a corner window was included in the design.
Regardless of the tight budget for this project, the client's brief has been achieved. By making a few simple, well thought out design moves the house has been transformed from a series of segregated rooms to a usable, enjoyable, inspiring family space all the family and friends can enjoy.
